Avondale is a moderately-sized suburban community located west of the Phoenix metropolitan area. With a population of nearly 85,000 people, Avondale resides along the Agua Fria River in a prominent commercial corridor. The City got its name from the famous Avondale Ranch after the post office in Coldwater relocated to the area.
